Movies We’re Seriously Looking Forward to in 2019

You have to admit, 2018 was a pretty fantastic year for moviegoers. With films like Black Panther,Crazy Rich Asians, and Incredibles 2,we truly had a heartwarming and action-packed year. So, can 2019 top it? Maybe.

There are some pretty impressive trailers out right now! We know we’ll be getting some epic new Marvel movies too. Those of course include the introduction of Captain Marvel and the conclusion to Infinity War.

Here are some of the other must-see titles coming out next year.

February 14 – Alita: Battle Angel

The upcoming adaptation of Yukito Kishiro’s cyberpunk manga Battle Angel Alita looks to be a truly thrilling film. Written by James Cameron and directed by Robert Rodriguez, it stars Rosa Salazar as Alita. Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, and others also join the cast.

It’s been a long time in the making, too. That’s part of why we’re so hyped to finally see this story come to life on the big screen.

March 8 – Captain Marvel

We absolutely cannot wait to see Brie Larson make her Marvel debut as Carol Danvers – aka Captain Marvel. While her existence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was teased in Infinity War, we’ve yet to see her in action.

March 29 – Dumbo

Pretty much anyone who’s ever been a child is familiar with Disney’s classic character Dumbo the flying elephant. While the 1941 animated film was in technicolor, Disney is about to kick things up another notch.

They’re not only bringing the heartwarming character back to life, they’re even bringing in Tim Burton to direct. The cast includes Eva Green, who you may remember as Miss Peregrine, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, Michael Keaton, and more.

May 24 – Aladdin

And speaking of Disney movies coming out this year, there’s also the live-action remake of Aladdin. Just like Beauty and the Beastand other’s before it, the animated classic will be re-told through a different lens.

Mena Massoud has been cast as the titular character alongside Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. While he’s got some big shoes to fill, Will Smith will be taking on the role of the genie.

May 31 – Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown is set to star in a new take on Godzilla this coming year as well. The mighty lizard will be facing off against Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah in this new iteration.

With the three vying for supremacy, we can only imagine the destruction they’ll cause.
